Reporting & Takedown Notice

Last updated: September 23, 2026

UnstuQ is committed to maintaining a safe and respectful community. This page documents our process for reporting, reviewing, and removing content or accounts that violate our Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). This process applies to all user-generated profiles, photos, messages, and business listings on our platform.

1. How to Report a Policy-Violating Profile or Content

We provide multiple reporting channels to ensure anyone can flag violating content or behavior quickly:

  • In-app report button — Every user profile, date plan, and message thread includes a "Report" option. Users can select a report category (no-show, profile mismatch, disrespectful communication, uncomfortable interaction, unsafe behavior, or other formal report) and provide optional details. Reports are submitted directly to our Trust & Safety team for review.
  • Someone in Mind reporting — Recipients of Someone in Mind invitations can report the sender for unwanted contact, harassment, spam, or other concerns directly from the invitation view.
  • Email — Reports can be sent to support@unstuq.com at any time. Our team monitors this inbox and routes reports to the appropriate review queue.
  • Contact form — Our Contact Us page (/contact) provides a categorized submission form for support, safety, and other concerns. Submissions are reviewed by our team.

All reports are confidential. The reported user is not informed of who submitted the report.

2. How Our Team Reviews a Submitted Report

Every report is reviewed by our Trust & Safety team through a structured process:

  • Who reviews — Reports are reviewed by trained Trust & Safety administrators with access to the admin Safety dashboard. All review actions are logged with the reviewing admin's identity for accountability.
  • How it is reviewed — Each report creates a Trust & Safety signal record that surfaces in the admin review queue. Admins review the report details, the reported user's profile, any related date feedback, and the user's history of prior signals. Automated threshold-based escalation flags repeat offenders for priority review. Serious safety concerns (unsafe behavior, formal reports) trigger immediate review on the first signal.
  • Target response time (SLA) — Our target response time is 24 hours from submission to initial review for all explicit user reports. Serious safety concerns are prioritized for immediate review. We strive to resolve all reports within 72 hours.
  • Actions taken — Based on the review, our team may take one or more of the following actions: no action (if the report is unfounded), content removal (removing violating photos, text, or profile content), warning to the user, account suspension (hiding the user's dating profile and cancelling their active open dates), permanent account removal, and referral to law enforcement or NCMEC where required by law. The severity of the action scales with the nature and frequency of the violation.

3. How a Reported User Can Appeal a Removal or Ban

Users who have had their account suspended, content removed, or identity verification permanently rejected can submit an appeal through our dedicated appeal process:

  • How to initiate — Affected users can submit an appeal through the in-app Appeal page (/appeal) or by emailing support@unstuq.com with "Appeal" in the subject line. The appeal should include the reason the user believes the action was incorrect.
  • One appeal at a time — Users may have one pending appeal at a time. If a pending appeal is already under review, the user will be notified to wait for the decision before submitting another.
  • Who reviews — Appeals are reviewed by a Trust & Safety administrator who was not involved in the original enforcement decision, ensuring an independent second review.
  • Expected timeline — Our target response time for appeals is 72 hours from submission to decision. The user will be notified by email when the appeal decision is made.
  • Possible outcomes — An appeal can be approved (resulting in reinstatement of the user's profile and access), partially approved (resulting in partial reinstatement with conditions), or denied (upholding the original decision).
  • If the appeal is denied — The original enforcement decision is upheld. The user will receive an explanation of the decision. Users may not submit a second appeal for the same incident unless they can provide new, material information that was not available at the time of the first appeal. In that case, they may email support@unstuq.com with the new information for consideration.

4. Proactive Detection

In addition to user reports, UnstuQ operates automated safety signal extraction from post-date feedback. Our system identifies patterns of unsafe behavior, disrespectful communication, and profile mismatches. When repeated independent signals cross configurable thresholds, the user is escalated to the admin review queue. A single subjective negative date outcome never triggers automatic punishment — only explicit safety signals do.

5. Emergency and Law Enforcement Referrals

Reports involving child sexual exploitation or abuse (CSEA) are reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement immediately. Reports involving threats of physical harm, human trafficking, or other serious crimes are referred to law enforcement. Our Law Enforcement Protocols page (/law-enforcement) documents our process for responding to lawful requests from authorities.
