UnstuQ LLC ("UnstuQ," "we," or "us") is committed to assisting law enforcement and government agencies in the investigation and prevention of criminal activity, while respecting the privacy and legal rights of our users. This page describes the protocols and procedures we follow when responding to requests from law enforcement.
All requests for user data or other information must be made through valid legal process, including but not limited to subpoenas, court orders, search warrants, or other valid legal authority issued by a court of competent jurisdiction. We do not disclose user data in response to informal requests, and we require that all legal process be properly signed and scoped.
UnstuQ reserves the right to object to, narrow, or contest any legal request that it believes is overbroad, vague, lacking proper legal authority, or inconsistent with applicable law and our user privacy commitments.
In cases involving an imminent threat to life or serious physical harm, we may voluntarily disclose limited user information to law enforcement without a subpoena or warrant, consistent with applicable law. Such requests must be submitted in writing and clearly describe the emergency and the specific information needed. We will assess each emergency request on a case-by-case basis.
Upon receipt of a valid written request from a law enforcement agency, we will take reasonable steps to preserve records associated with a user account for up to 90 days, to allow the requesting agency time to obtain the appropriate legal process. Preservation requests must identify the account by user email or other sufficient identifier.
All legal requests should be submitted in writing and include the following:
Requests may be submitted by mail or email:
We make every effort to respond to valid legal requests within a reasonable timeframe, typically within 14–30 days of receipt, depending on the nature and scope of the request. Complex or voluminous requests may require additional time. We will communicate any anticipated delays to the requesting agency.
Unless prohibited by law or court order, we will notify users when their information is requested by law enforcement, so that they may exercise their legal rights to challenge the request where appropriate.
UnstuQ may publish periodic transparency reports summarizing the number and types of law enforcement requests received and our responses, consistent with applicable law and user privacy protections.
Questions regarding these protocols or the status of a submitted request may be directed to support@unstuq.com or 801-801-9598.
